missed the point
So I've got a phone book I'd like to get rid of. But it sure seems a waste to just throw it away. No problem, I've got a recycling bin. I'll drop it in there.
Not so fast. Get home, the only thing left in the bin were the two phone books I tried recycling. Check the Ecology Action of Texas site, and it tells me that phone books in Austin won't be picked up because of the low grade of paper. They can, however, be recycled at my friendly neighborhood recycling center DRIVE THROUGH, a mere 30 mile round trip from my current location.
Hmm.

So "Blog" is supposed to be short for web log. At first, I thought this referred to a sort of diary of postings to a website. But upon reading some of the others that are out there, I think "log," in this case, is a euphemism for solid natural digestive wastes. In other words:

Etymology: Cyberspace
Date: 21st century
1 noun : Useless shit, posted online by the same.
2 verb : To post useless shit online.
-blog·ger : One who posts useless shit online.
Rather than use this rather vile and disgusting lingo, I shall instead refer to my installments -- assuming there are to some day be continued and multiple postings -- as "WEb ASsisted E-Letters," or "weasels."

it begins
So I read about "blogging" in Wired this month, and thought, shit, I've been doing that for years, I just didn't give it such a gawdawful stupid name. Difference is, I tend to send my babbling out in specifically directed messages to those who I feel won't have me committed for my prose. But this blogger.com thing looks like an easy interface to allow regular updates with minimal effort...
Now, if I can just get past the stupid name.
